Standards Of Learning Oriented ToursTours of Shenandoah Caverns, American Celebration on Parade and The Yellow Barn at Shenandoah Caverns provide a meaningful, yet entertaining experience and are oriented to the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL). ES8, 9, 1 (rocks, geological processes and karst topography) Physical Science ? PS1b (metrics) General Science ? K4, 9; 1.8; 2.3; 7; 3.2, 9; 4.1, 8; 5.1, 7; 6.5c History and Social Studies - 2.2; VS2b; US 1.3a; CE.3d, 4e, 5c (First Americans, Citizenship, Valley & Ridge, Patriotism, Political Campaigns) Diverse new programs are in the developmental stages for availability in fall, 2007 in all attractions, including The Yellow Barn at Shenandoah Caverns, opening spring, 2007. Please check back for these exciting and educational options! Planning Your TripCombination tours are available at substantial discounts. Teachers may request rate information. Please make a reservation by calling our sales director at 888-4CAVERN so we will be prepared for your group!Teacher information is available to help you prepare students for the field trip. Students should dress appropriately for the constant 54 degree temperature in the caverns and wear sturdy, comfortable shoes for the one-mile tour. All attractions are handicapped accessible. Shenandoah Caverns is the only Virginia caverns with elevator service and no stairs to climb on the tour. While students generally enjoy spending time in our gift shops, we also offer pre-packaged souvenir bags for school groups. Just give us the number needed when making your reservation. Prices: $3.00 for small bag and $5.00 for large bag. When You ArriveA teacher or chaperone should come into the lobby of the attraction you are scheduled to visit first and identify the group arriving.
